.. i think it wud look fantastic to pick up some 60s - 70s hippie style for your room.
experiment with multi colored walls, choose some bright funky colors to start with. buy some bright colored furniture and big floral prints for the upholstery or drapes either the walls should be painted in hot prints or your upholstery and other furnishing. there are plenty of ideas to pick from.
