It isn't intended as a skipping rhyme.
Hmm. I take it that this is about mortality. "Like sand through an hourglass, so are the days of our lives". What do I think? Well, I like the way you framed your poem as a skipping rhyme, both setting the pace for the tick-tock meter, and setting up the coda at the end. That works very well, and I think it's probably the most original part of the poem.
As for the rest (assuming I'm reading it right; it's always possible I'm missing things), I'm afraid I don't like it so much. "The hourglass that hovers by her face" is a rather unsubtle image, isn't it? How is it hovering there? I mean, all right, Lucy is your character and you can do what you want with her, but shoving the hourglass in her face and the symbolism in ours seems a bit much.
I found the "ho hum" line rather...ho hum. A bit too convenient for my taste, considering that I've never heard a clock make that sound.
I didn't get the point of "Summer, winter have a hand
In spring and autumn rain" nor its connection to the lines that followed.
