Value of Graduation Cap and gowns for a Student
Cap and gown for graduates mark a beginning to a future in life. Whether it is for kindergarten, middle school, high school, college and higher education, it is a symbol of achievement. Caps are usually worn and have tassels attached to them with a button. Most caps are made from cloth or felt. Tassels come in single or two colors, they can be one or multi-corded. Clergy, ushers, choir members and judges also wear gowns that make them look more uniformed. There are a few different varieties of fabrics that you can choose from, there is cotton, satin and polyester. A few companies even offer eco-friendly green ware that is made from recycled plastic bottles, this is a great way to promote recycling with your graduates! Most of the gowns are crease resistant and shiny. You can get ones that have zippers on them for easy donning of your gown.
For those short but successful kindergarten students, they can have their own graduation. There is a line of kindergarten graduation caps made for these great little kids. Measure the head of the graduate so you will know what size to order. You can order a tassel as well to go with the cap with the year. You can have the graduates decorate their mortar board on their hat with their name or draw pictures on it with fabric paint and stencils.
High school cap and gowns mark the end of twelve years of hard work. You can either purchase them or rent them. You can order them in various colors, check with the company you are going to get them from. There is turquoise, gold, white, light blue, purple, grey, navy, black and maroon/burgundy. Some offer red, hunter green and orange but these may require a few extra weeks. Some schools like to order the same color for all the graduates. Decide if you want a regular or full length gown, you will need the height and weight of the graduate. Some companies offer you the chance to get a fitted cap, but most come one size fits all.
Group orders usually are discounted in price. You can choose to have them sent directly to the school or your house. Be sure you know when you need the order by, it is a good idea to have them arrive a few weeks beforehand. Some web pages give you the chance to request information on their apparel so you can compare prices, and they will let you know how long in advance you need to order. Some companies have a minimum amount to order.
If you have a graduate that has earned an award or honor you can help them show this to those attending the ceremony. Honor cords or stoles can be ordered along with the gown and cap. Most of them are gold, but you can special order a different color. Stoles can be printed with the award name or the students name.

I'm graduating from high school soon and the gown is blue. The hat is blue and the tassel is yellow/golden. I also have a golden stole that says "honor" on it.
I'll either be wearing black or dark blue dress pants with black shoes.
